It was brilliant to see our Year 8 & 9 students all competing in the recent Invictus Games held at Pedmore School.
The games were opened with an amazing routine from the performing arts students and staff that captured the essence of what the games are about
Value One: Every day, in every way, our students come first
Our first, and most important value.
It set the bar high for our sporting performers to follow, which they did.
The activities selected for the games were:
Swimming, Table Tennis, and Rugby.
The performances on show were once again of an excellent standard and we saw some very good and close races in the pool in particular.
And even though the weather wasn't kind to the outdoor activity of Rugby, the students threw themselves into the competition (literally) they were covered from head to toe in the mud bath that became the pitches, but well done to all students for their outstanding attitude and commitment to the competition!
The overall winners for the Year 8 & 9 Invictus Games were....... Elllowes Hall, well done to all of the squad included!
And thank you and well done to the PE and Performing Arts staff at Pedmore who were excellent hosts for this term's event. The baton now passes to Wombourne High School for the Year 7 games in the Summer term.
