Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) governance is the framework that ensures effective leadership, accountability, and strategic oversight across all schools within the Trust. It is designed to uphold the Trust’s vision and to maintain high educational standards, financial integrity, and strong community engagement.
Our governance operates at three key levels:
Members: The guardians of governance and the Trust’s purpose, ensuring it remains true to its vision and values. They appoint the majority of Trustees and hold the Trust Board to account for the effective governance of the Trust whilst having minimal involvement.
Trust Board: The key decision-making body responsible for setting the Trust’s strategy, overseeing finances, and ensuring educational excellence. Trustees hold executive leaders to account.
Academy Committees: Committees of the Trust Board that focus on individual schools. They are the ‘eyes and ears’ on the ground acting as a critical friend to school leadership. At Invictus, our academy committees focus on Curriculum/outcomes, Community, Compliance and Communication.
Our governance framework ensures transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all our schools. Please see the Invictus Scheme of Delegation for more detail.
