Miss N Hall
Director of English ( Maternity Cover)
Miss Hall was born in West Bromwich, and completed a BA(HONS) in English and American Literature at the University of Wolverhampton between 1996-1999. At the same time as completing this, she also studied for an associate degree in dance, which enabled her to embark upon the first part of her teaching career. From 1999-2004 she taught dance to a wide range of age groups at a specialised dance school, whilst providing home tuition for English language and literature in the local area. It was this experience that encouraged her to embark upon a career in teaching, and in 2004 she joined a Wolverhampton school where she trained to teach, and remained employed for the following 9 years. As a dedicated practitioner, she progressed to 2nd in charge of the English department as an NQT, co-ordinated KS3 and endeavoured to perfect her craft. During the remaining years at this school, she showed a keen interest in developing teachers and ensuring quality provision for staff and students alike; at this point she progressed to coordinate whole school CPD, train new teachers, and support newly qualified teachers, delivering whole school bespoke CPD on a number of subjects. In 2013 she joined the staff at Crestwood School as Head of Department, and was delighted to have been appointed as acting director of English in 2020.
Miss Hall is an examiner for both Pearson and AQA GCSE English Language and literature, and is also a published writer, she hopes to be able to write and publish a novel to accompany her published poetry in the near future. Her passion for literature is clearly infectious, as she has encouraged more than 200 students to also become published writers. Miss Hall is entirely committed to supporting students in reaching their aspirations and fulfilling their full potential, and honestly believes that living the Invictus Values is a key to unlocking this potential.
In her spare time, Miss Hall is a keen runner, and loves nothing more than taking runs in new and interesting places. She loves the outdoors, and at weekends can be most often found walking her own dog, or walking dogs as a charity volunteer for the elderly. However, she loves nothing more than reading a good book and discussing it with anyone who will listen. In the future Miss Hall would love to travel more, she has toured America as a solo traveller, and followed the journeys of her favourite authors, and would love to have the opportunity to continue to do this in the future
