Pedmore High School Student Becomes Dudley UK Youth Parliament Representative

14 May 2019

We have incredible news, a year 9 students at Pedmore High School has been successful in her campaign to become the Dudley representative for the UK Youth Parliament. and incredible achievement, we will let Laiba tell you all about it herself:

‘On the 6th of February, I applied to become the next member of the UK Youth Parliament. To do this I had to create a short video which highlighted the key ideas that I would hope to tackle if I got the position. I mainly focused on mental health, because I believe it deserves more recognition by Dudley and by Parliament to improve young people’s lives. On the 16th of April I received an email which told me that I had been selected as a member of the UK Youth Parliament and that I am now a Dudley representative! I am looking forward to attending conferences and most importantly delivering a debate in the House of Commons later in November this year! I’m honoured to have been voted for and can’t wait to begin my new role and hopefully change the lives of the young people in Dudley for the better.’
