Miss R Ward

Miss Ward was born in West Bromwich and completed her BA (Honours) in English at The University of Birmingham between 2002 – 2006. She has spent most of her teaching career at Ellowes Hall Sport College, eleven years so far, moving from Key Stage Three leader for English to Assistant Headteacher. Miss Ward’s passion for Literature was ignited when studying Blake’s Songs of Innocence and Experience in Sixth Form but she always knew she wanted to be a teacher from an early age.

Miss Ward is an examiner for Pearson and AQA GCSE English Language and an active member of N.A.T.E (The National Association for the Teachers of English.) In 2011, Miss Ward completed her NPQML course before leading an English department for the first time. She is committed to driving progress and achievement in all students.

In her spare time, Miss Ward likes to scuba dive, run marathons and hike mountains, travelling to over 50 countries so far.

Miss Ward is delighted to take on the new role of Subject Director role across the Invictus Trust as of September 2018.
